I hope this email finds you hydrated.
Happy Friday! Here is the interview! I’ve decided to separate it from the weekly roundup for length/flow/time purposes.
I worked for my college as a *sigh* orientation leader, and Meg was one of the freshman I had to show around campus, help sign up for classes, teach how to use the CTA, and get excited for DePaul. Clearly, I did a great job, because she ended up transferring 🤡 hahaha.
Cut to a year later, we met again (probably at a gross diy show) and reunited as friends. I’m excited for you to get to know her!
feature of the week: @meg__memes
Hello! What is @meg__memes for those who don't already know?
“It’s a meme page that’s not funny, it’s funny.”
What kinds of memes do you make?
“I make a bunch of different memes! Some are just shitposting some are music related of people I like or sometimes psych rock, which is bad.”
How did @meg__memes come about?
“I first had a Facebook page where I would shit-post memes. A year ago, I met my friend Stefan at a get-together. He had a meme page and said I should make one, and so I did.”
Tell me about Meg Memes Fest!
“Meg Memes Fest was when I had a ton of musicians play on Instagram Live for two days in April. I would ask silly questions in between songs. It was definitely something to look forward during Covid! I wanna do another one. Maybe a year anniversary or something.”
And tell me about yourself, Meg!
“I’m Meg. I work at Petco, but I’d like a remote job. I have social media experience!”
What are you passions/interests outside of meme-making (lol)?
“I like to write and make music lmfao! I wanna make an EP. It’ll come eventually. But I wanna write for TV too.”
Any hopes, goals, and dreams for @meg__memes? :)
“To have fun and be happy!”
