I hope this email finds you hydrated.
Last week I gave you my lil 2020 wrap up, and this time we’re going to revisit my past interviewees. I thought this would be a fun way to check in on these ~cool people~ and to reintroduce them to my new subscribers.
It’s also a great reminder to keep supporting them. Give them a follow or purchase their art/goods :)
Let’s see what everyone’s been up to.
This will be divided in parts for length purposes!
1. Zena Kay
Zena Kay is an illustrator and foodie based in Nottingham, UK. She was my first interviewee in my first ever (very all over the place) email! Since I’ve spoken to her, she’s illustrated a cooking zine, been featured in Vogue Spain, and her drawing club Still Here is still going strong :)
You can follow Zena on Instagram at @zenaokay, browse her shop at zenaokay.com, and participate in her weekly still life drawing challenge at @stillherestilllife on Instagram.
2. Alisa Nappa
Alisa Nappa is a singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. Last time we talked, she had a new music video for her song Teen Dream. Since then, she’s released another song, Strawberry Pie. & it looks like her IG story might hint to some new music in 2021 👀
Follow Alisa on Instagram at @alisanappa, and stream her music on Spotify or Apple Music!
3. Bummer Wines
Bummer Wines is a Natural wine club based in Pilsen, Chicago. Every month, they source new Natural wines for you to try. Their club has been going strong since September! It’s currently only open to Chicago residents, but they’re a great follow for discovering new Natural wines (and are hoping to ship nationwide someday!).
Follow Bummer Wines on Instagram at @bummerwines and check out their latest wine selection (and fun merch that ships outside of Chi!) on their website bummer-wines.com.
4. Chicago Found Goods
Chicago Found Goods is a small business that sells vintage finds: clothing, art, home goods, etc. He’s always posting ~cool new finds~ that you can DM to purchase. He also has his own merch and is often posting his graphic design work on @failingupwardsagency on Instagram.
Follow @chicagofoundgoods and @failingupwardsagency on Instagram and check out the latest on chicagofoundgoods.com.
5. Tired Thrift
Tired Thrift is a NYC-based duo curating vintage clothing and accessories at an affordable price. When I interviewed them, they were selling their vintage finds on their website and dreaming of opening a retail store. Wellllllll it happened! They also kind of blew up on TikTok.
Follow Tired Thrift @tiredthrift on Instagram to shop their IG story listings, follow their poppin’ TikTok, and visit their store at 10 Bedford Ave. Brooklyn, NY!
6. Lili Trifilio
Lili Trifilio is a Chicago native and the songwriter/frontwoman of Beach Bunny, a power pop band based in the city. When I interviewed her, we talked about her side projects, how the pandemic has affected the music industry, and her dream collabs. Since then, Beach Bunny has released their single Good Girls (Don’t Get Used) with an accompanying music video, announced their EP release date (January 15th), and will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Omg!!!
Follow Lili on Instagram at @beachbunn.y, her band at @beachbunnymusic, and stream their music here.
